Bubby’s Story

From the moment Bubby came into my life as a tiny, five-week-old orange-and-white rescue kitten, something felt different. What I didn’t know at the time was how he would change my life forever.

The early years were filled with play, discovery, and joy. Bubby was my constant companion. He greeted me at the door when I came home. He slept beside me every night. He was there during life’s biggest victories and its hardest moments. Through it all, he trusted me completely, and I trusted him right back.

Before Bubby, I didn’t know what a soulcat was. But anyone who’s had a soulcat, or shared that kind of soul-deep connection with an animal, knows exactly what I’m talking about. It’s a connection that’s difficult to explain unless you’ve experienced it. They’re not ‘just a pet.’ They’re family. They’re comfort. They’re home.

Bubby was all of those things to me. Our connection went far beyond companionship. He was a part of me.

At 11 years old, Bubby was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. The veterinarians told me he likely had only six months to live. I was devastated. I wasn’t ready to lose him.

So, I researched. I learned. I asked questions. I worked with veterinarians and dedicated myself to giving him the best care possible. With consistent veterinary care and a lot of daily hands-on care at home, we were able to stabilize him.
