Bubby's Story
Some cats come into your life.
Others change it forever.
Bubby was about five weeks old when he came into my life. He was a tiny, fluffy orange-and-white rescue kitten with an oversized personality and a way of looking at me that made it feel like we'd known each other forever.
I had no idea then that he would become mysoulcat.
For nearly eighteen years, Bubby was my constant companion. He greeted me at the door when I came home. He slept beside me every night. He was there during life's biggest victories and its hardest moments. Through it all, he trusted me completely, and I trusted him right back.
Anyone who's ever had a soulcat knows exactly what I'm talking about.
It's a connection that's difficult to explain to people who haven't experienced it. They're not "just a pet." They're family. They're comfort. They're home.
Bubby was all of those things to me.
At 11 years old, Bubby was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. The veterinarians told me he likely had only six months to live.
I wasn't ready to lose him.
So I researched. I learned. I asked questions. I worked with veterinarians and dedicated myself to giving him the best care possible.
What happened next felt like a true gift.
Instead of six months, Bubby lived another six and a half years.
Six and a half years of extra mornings.
Extra evenings.
Extra memories.
Extra time with the cat who meant everything to me.
On February 4, 2021, just days before his eighteenth birthday on Valentine's Day, I said goodbye to my best friend.
I was devastated.
Even now, I still miss him every day.
Bubby wasn't just part of my life.
He was my heart.
For a long time, I couldn't imagine another cat ever filling the space he left behind. The truth is, no cat ever could. Soulcats aren't replaceable.
But I knew opening my heart again wouldn't diminish the love I had for Bubby. I knew it would honor him.
That's when Bentley entered my life.
The first time I saw photos of him, I felt something I couldn't quite explain. There was something in his eyes. Something familiar. Something that made me stop scrolling and pay attention.
It wasn't that Bentley was Bubby.
He wasn't.
But I knew he might become something special in his own right.
And he has.
Bentley helped me rediscover the joy, companionship, and unconditional love that only a cat can bring.
He reminded me that while the loss of a soulcat leaves a permanent mark on your heart, your heart still has room to love again.
That's why we created MySoulCat and The Glam Cat.
Because if you've ever loved a cat so deeply that they changed your life, you're not weird.
You're not alone.
And you're certainly not the only one.
We believe the bond between people and their cats deserves to be celebrated, shared, and understood.
Every design we create is inspired by that connection.
Every order helps us continue our mission of supporting cats and the people who love them.
And every day, we carry Bubby's memory forward.
Because soulcats may leave our arms, but they never leave our hearts.
